Abdul Helal

Abdul Helal

In yoga Abdul Helal found his passion and hobby but especially his own inner calling. He considers yoga as a very individual method to find one's own way - in yoga practice as well as in life.

His first steps have been in kundalini yoga followed by an intensive yoga practice and the qualification as a yoga instructor. He curiously researched several yoga traditions with different teachers and influences to come to the conclusions that yoga becomes alive in its entirety without any boundaries or restrictions.

Today Abdul puts together the variety of yoga into his classes, in order to equip his students with various methods to connect the yoga tradition to their own everyday life.

Abdul's yoga classes are calm and introspective as well as dynamic and powerful accompanied by particular chosen traditional or modern music. In each class he invites you to look inside yourself in order to make a physical, mental and emotional experience and continually discover more of the indian philosophy.

Bettina Lietz

Bettina Lietz

I teach yoga as a "Science of Joy and Health" for everyone. Old and young, rich and poor, thick and thin come together in yoga to create a happy, harmonious cooperative in all its colorful diversity. In my small school in Charlottenburg, handicapped persons and senior citizens sit on mats next to young, agile pupils. Since the degree of difficulty of every asana can be varied, everyone gets their money's worth. In my classes, everyone, from children to the elderly, can participate since yoga has much good to offer to all.

Madhuri Chattophadhyay

Madhuri Chattophadhyay

Madhuri Chattopadhyay: I was born in Kolkata and grew up in a family of musicians. At our home there was a musical circle called ›Reyaj‹ (practicing music) where most of the acclaimed Indian musicians used to perform regularly. I acquired my first vocal lessons from my father Sri Subodh Kumar Chatterjee, a disciple of the destinguished North-Indian Kirana School of music. My mother is also a musician though she was an artist of the Drama Department of All India Radio for a fairly long time.

My musical career began with the renowned violin-maestro Pandit V.G.Jog who was not only my Guru but guided me in my musical development like a father. I studied at the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, where I completed my Master Degree in Musicology. At this point my special gratitude goes to Pandit Swapan Chowdhuri who initiated me into the rhythmical side of Indian music.

In 1976 I made my concert debut at the Meta-Music-Festival in Berlin. After my marriage in 1982 I returned to Berlin and since then I have been teaching Indian classical vocal and instrumental music in various cultural institutions, besides giving concerts in different European cities.

Nives Kostovic

Nives Kostovic

Yoga Nidra already finds mention in old tantric texts and it was rediscovered 20-odd years ago by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, founder of the Bihar School of Yoga.

He translates Yoga Nidra as psychic sleep and describes it as a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation, while maintaining awareness at the deeper levels. Indeed, the practice is so relaxing that it becomes almost impossible to remain awake. But you come out feeling more rested than you do after a good night's sleep, and injected with large doses of gumption to tackle the day's tasks. Swami Satyananda says that prolonged suspension between wakefulness and sleep called the hypnogogic state in Yoga Nidra may have untold benefits that go beyond the therapeutic.

Prem Joshua

Prem Joshua

Born to a musical family in Germany, Joshua began learning the flute at the age of five, becoming a fine flautist while still a child. As a teenager he was soon performing in various Rock, Jazz and Fusion bands as a flute and saxophone player, always searching for new ways of expressing and expanding his music.

However, his musical "discontent", combined with his search for the spiritual, pulled him, perhaps inevitably, towards India - her culture and her music. Thus it was, that in the late seventies, at the age of 18, he left home, he left high school, ended all his career plans, and traveled instead, overland from Europe to India - following the irresistable attraction and pull that the East had now cast over him.

And this coming home to India was only the "outer" part of his journey. On his travels he came across the enlightened mystic, Osho. In the presence of this man with a long white beard, eyes as deep as the ocean and a strong sense of humor, he came in touch with the art of the "inner music" - Silence.

Until today he has released 14 albums under his name and played on countless studio recordings.
