Lecture: Hormon Yoga according to Dinah Rodrigues

with Birgit Löwenbrück

The brasilian psychologist and Yogateacher Dinah Rodrigues developed the method in the 90th and proved the effectiveness empirically by blood test, questionaires and interviews.

Hormon Yoga is a wonderful way to improve common complaints during menopause. Common complaints during menopause include hot flashes, sleeping disorders, migraines, emotional imbalances, depressive feelings, PMS - premenstrual syndrome, hair loss, vaginal dryness and dryness of skin, loss of memory, just to name a few. The cause of these symptoms is a drop in hormone levels which begins around 35 years of age.

Hormon Yoga is a natural alternative to hormone replacement therapy. This dynamic practice can also help younger women with hormonal related problems to balance the hormon system, especially if suffering from irregularity of cycle, polycystic ovaries, early menopause and the wish to have children.

The lecture informs about the work of Mrs. Rodrigues, the development of the method until today, about indications and contraindications, the possibility to prove the increasing hormon values by blood tests, the effect of stress in the interplay between homonal- and nervous-system, the long-term-benefits and the enjoyable side effects of this practice.

Jivamukti Yoga

with Anja Kühnel and Moritz Ulrich

The Jivamukti method of Yoga is one of the nine internationally recognized styles of Hatha Yoga. Meditation is spart of Jivamukti Yoga. Non-violence. The knowledge why we are challenging our body. In Jivamukti Yoga, we are also trying to teach Yogic philosophy, the reason why we are putting our body into certain postures, why Yoga was invented.

A typical Jivamukti class consists of flowing vinyasa sequences partnered with Sanskrit chanting, traditional Vedic and contemporary teachings and commentary, breath awareness, meditation, hands-on alignment, and relaxation. We do sitting, standing, and inverted postures, and suggest challenging variations for more advanced students. Exuberant, eclectic music plays an integral role; in a Jivamukti Yoga class you might practice to a shifting soundtrack of ragas, global trance, Bob Dylan, the chanting of Krishna Das, the Beatles, Gregorian chants, and Moby.

Yoga and Music - Song of the Body

with Regina Berger and Ben Sond

The practice of making sound and at the same time moving, gives us an insight and sensitivity into how the energies of prana are moving or perhaps not moving within our system.

In this workshop we will be using sound and vibration. There will be practices of movement and Kundalini stimulation along with sound that are quite remarkable to open up the energies of the body.

Those working with the voice will find this workshop interesting and useful, as will yoga practitioners who would like to start combining sound work with their practice.

We will be assisted by the Tamboura; which is a classical Indian instrument, traditionally used in the recitation of prayers and spiritual writings. The meditative sound is said to stimulate certain latent forces that raise consciousness. It is traditionally an ancient instrument of Yogis. We will be practicing a moving form of kirtan - singing mantras with rhythmical movements.

There is an emphasis on authentic emotional expression - using the energies of our emotions to carry us to the yogic vision.

If energy that is trapped or stagnant can be liberated, then the potential for healing and transformation is great. If the life force flows, then we fall into the divine flow of life.

Sivananda Yoga - all levels

with Stefan Datt

Sivananda Yoga offers an integrated yoga practice of Asana, Pranayama, relaxation, nutrition and meditation. The Sivananda practice aligns the Chakras (energy centers) through Asana, cleansing breath techniques and a philosophical foundation.

"A gram of practice is better than tons of Theorie" was one of the favorite sayings of Yoga Master Swami Sivananda (1887-1963). When Swami Sivananda was once asked why then he had written so many books (over 200!), he answered verschwithzt, smiling: "Some humans need tons of theory to be inspired to find their gram of practice."

Kirtan is an Eastern form of call and response mantra chanting that is currently experiencing a creative and popular renaisaance in the West.

In this consciousness-transforming practice, the singers vanish into the song just as drops merge into the ocean. Accompanied by tablas, finger cymabls, harmonium, and guitar, the performers and the audience move through an arc that ascends from stillness to joyous flights of clapping and dancing. The mantras quiet the mind, and the music frees the heart. Ecstasy is both the process and the product.

Lecture: Panchakarma Ayurveda therapy

with Alexander Peters

The original yoga and ayurveda texts emphasize repeatedly the importance of freeing the body of waste products and toxins. When the body is cleansed, health stabilizes, allowing the practitioner to advance along the path of spiritual development and growth.

While yoga speaks on the one hand of Niramanu nadishodhana, the so-called Shatkriya und on the other hand of Samanu nadishodhana, pranayama techniques such as Anuloma-viloma or Nadi-shodhana pranayama, ayurveda, classical Indian medicine, uses a complex treatment regimen known as Panchakarma.

This lecture will address the similarities and differences between these cleansing methods as well as their applicability and limits in the field of health and disease.

Kundalini Yoga - Opening of the heart

with Stefano Petrou

Opportunity & Green Energy Set

Yoga is learning to come back to yourself. It's finding your limits, expanding your boundaries, and being able to truly relax into who you are. Kundalini is the uncoiling of the being. Kundalini is your creative potential. The heart chacra is the seat of love + compassion (for yourself and others). This set attracts opportunities and opens up the heart center. It allows one to approach prosperity from the heart center consciousness. This consciousness can be summarized as follows: "The more I open myself, the more I can attract. I don't need to struggle, I have the ability to attract opportunities." Believe that you deserve prosperity, and that God loves you.

with Regina Berger, accompanied by Atul Krishna and Danilo Steinert

We mix selfcomposed beautiful spiritual songs with Indian mantras. Meditative Singing can open our hearts and give rest to our minds.

The Sanskrit word mantra is composed of two sounds, man and tra - man means the mind or the thinking instrument, and tra means to bridge or to cross over. A mantra allows us to travel beyond thoughts - there we can experience peace and happiness.

Text and melodies are simple, so that you can feel absolutely welcome.

In this workshop we experience the inner space of the tibetian meditation as an outer three-dimensional space. Learn and rejoice in the art of body prayer. Each practitioner breathes and turns in space as a single unit, while the formation of the group also "breathes" and "spins" in a circular motion as a larger mandala unit.

This workshop is a demonstration for the application of tantric nyasa technique with asana, pranyama and meditation. Nyasa is a tantric method to energize the body.
