ISHTA Yoga Flow (English)

with Julie Blumenthal

ISHTA has two meanings: the Sanksrit word for personalized, or individualized, and, as a yoga system, an acronym for the Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda. Tantra tells us we are not separate from the universe or from ourselves; our mind, body and spirit are all layers or tools of our jiva, the seed of the universe inside each of us that determines our karma and who, why and what we are in this particular lifetime. Ayurveda restates that we are continually affecting and being affected by the world around us, and as this relationship changes, what we need changes, based on our innate nature (prakriti) and our current state (vrikriti) based on the state of our lives.

In an ISHTA class, we use the tools of Hatha yoga (asana, pranayama and kriya) to come back into balance and return to our jiva so we can follow our own inner truth more easily and happily from moment to moment.

Vinyasa flow class (in English) with basic pranayama, kriya and meditation. All levels welcome!

Dhrupad - Traditional concert

with Mallik Family

The Mallik Family is presenting the court music tradition of Darbhanga, a former state in the north-eastern corner of India, close to the Nepalese border. They trace their line to the singers Radhakrishna and Kartaram who appeared at the court around 1785 and made a name for themselves by averting a drought by singing of the magical rain Raga Megh. Maharaja Madhav Singh of Darbhanga granted them the title Mallik - landowner - and awarded them two villages and the surrounding landed property, which the family owns up to the present day.

Kirtan Concert

with Swaramandala & Friends

Kirtan is a spiritual practice where Mantras and Bhajans are sung in a melodic and devotional manner. This type of singing is of central importance in the Indian tradition and has meanwhile become an essential aspect of Yoga practice in both West and East, especially in Nada and Bhakti Yoga. Accompanied by traditional instruments, Kirtan facilitates a sense of connectedness and heart opening. The subtle energy channels of the body, the Nadis, are thus perfused by healing vibrations. Singing is an expression of joy and community, it is able to bring people together and create a joint energy field. (See Barbara Irmer/Carmen Mager, Nada Yoga - Hinwendung zum inneren Klang, Theseus Verlag)

Swaramandala has been giving concerts for many years. They teach Nada Yoga seminars mainly at the European College for Yoga and Therapy. Several CDs.

Virya Yoga

with Josephine Selander

Virya yoga is a dynamic form of yoga which focuses on biomechanics. In systematically composed yoga series you will discover in each and every class a tough, fun way to practice yoga that nourishes your mind with positive, philosophical themes.

"Virya", in Sanskrit, means "enthusiasm", "energy", or "power", and the aim of Virya yoga is that it will empower and energize you. Enthusiasm comes with the delightful playfulness that will hopefully inspire you to explore the landscapes of your body and mind.

"Virya is the positive energy of ego that is the support for the faith of going in the right direction. This energy of virya puts the power behind your sense of knowing what to do. When you are strongly acting on what you know to be your correct path, that is virya. Virya is that conviction that says, "I can do it! I will do it! I have to do it!"

The combination of these highly developed and effective systems can open up many new worlds to the practitioner. The catalytic effect of natural essential oils unfurls maximum impact with selective application in the appropriate mental and physical state. BenefitYoga® moves and inspires…

with Sonja Klöwer

BenefitYoga® is incorporating an intertraditional and holistic approach - Yoga for Health, Healing and Self-Realization - developed by Dr. Daya Mullins / European College for Yoga and Therapy (ECYT).

The core aspects of this approach are awareness, the harmonizing of body, mind and breath based on the principle of appropriateness and the natural flow of breath. The Yoga Asanas serve as a means of discovering self-knowledge, focus of mind, healing and inner joy. The essentials are one's personal practice, the integration of Yoga into everyday life and the unfoldment of one's inner potentials.

Healing Power transmission of Qi Gong energy by Master Tianying

with Master Tianying

The energy transmission of the Qi Gong School "Tian Gong" is unique. Tian Gong Master Tianying, known in the new film "In The Beginning Was The Light", transfers strong healing energy for soul calming and gives the transmission of Bi Gu (pranic food) activation.

During the energy transmission of soul calming it is easy to reach a state of consciousness (chitta) without thoughts (vritti) and emotions where deep silence (nirodhah) can be experienced.

Bi Gu is a way for all people who want to switch gradually from earthly food to energy diet. Bi Gu does not mean that you are in a state of deprevation or fasting. You find yourself in a natural state of energetic abundance both physically and mentally.

In the Bi Gu state you feel light, happy and grateful - especially if you are aware of how much you care for the Earth, and knowing you can help the Earth by taking less resources from it. Tian Gong Master Tianying invites you to make your first experience with the Bi Gu energy.

The center of the workshop is the No Dimension meditation, an OSHO meditation with Sufi background. No Dimensions is a wonderful meditation, it is a combination of breathing and feeling to get connected with the world in all directions and with your inner heart, during the Yoga Festival. Connect with your base, connect with space, and breathe out what narrows and drags you down.

We will start with a handy mini-workshop on OSHO meditation, energy system, and breathing. You will experience the powerful, pleasurable, and energizing essence of the chakras and their aspects; breathing while connecting to your energy and discovering the key solution to dissolving blockades.

Landscape Yoga

with Susanne Lutz

When doing landscapeyoga we are going into a dialogue with nature surrounding us. During this process we receive the stream of lifenergy. At the beginning of the Yogalession we are walking from place to place. Our model is the attentive step of a pilgrim.

The elements are playing an important role. For instance we are doing yoga at the watercourse and connect ourselves there with the water element, respectively the deva of the water. On the emotional platform we can get a better connection to our feelings and let blockages go.

It will be very exciting to find special places of power in the surrounding. We then step into communication with nature and can realize landscape as a mirror of our selves.

In Gutspark Kladow there are many magical places and trees that touch our hearts. So we learn how landscape brings our purest inner self to sound.

Dance Performance Bharata Natyam

mit Marlies Ziegert and Tapati Nobis

We want to present the diversity of the classical Indian dance style of Bharatanatyam. Bharatanatyam is one of the most popular classical Indian dance styles. It is a holistic form of expression of dance, drama and music. Each is treated equally, together they form a homogeneous unit. The technique had been kept and maintained for thousands of years, and thus became refined more and more, over the time, always staying true to the basic elements and rules.

Originally performed in honour of the Hindu deities in temples, Bharatnatyam has now found its way onto public stages worldwide.

Almost each dance is dedicated to one of the numerous Hindu gods and goddesses, telling their stories from Indian mythology by means of hand gestures, facial expressions and postures, integrating fast rhythmic step sequences for specific counting patterns. The result is a very rich and complex dance experience. Prior to each dance we will give a short explanation.
